Slapshot turned over as Superintendent to VADM Sean Buck, USNA ‘83. Slapshot gave an exceptional farewell speech, pictured here, with no notes. You can hear the speech at this link. On behalf of the National Capital Council of the Navy League (NCCNL) of the United States, Doug Denneny accepted an outstanding council award from the NLUS at their annual convention on Friday June 21st. Doug is the volunteer president of the NCCNL and accepted the award on behalf of the 60 volunteer members of his board who worked tirelessly in 2018 to support members of the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and their families who live and work in the National Capital Region. The NCCNL was one of 12 councils who received the top award, out of 256 councils around the world.
